Discovering the Magic of a Camera – One Day Intensive Photography Course
— 13th August 2023
There’s something magical about spending a day immersed in the world of photography, especially when you’re in the company of passionate experts. Today, our One Day Intensive Photography Course was led by none other than our director, Aga King, who was joined by the talented Octavia. Together, they created an atmosphere of learning, creativity, and fun.
We now offer 15 photography courses, so for those unfamiliar with the Intensive Day course, it’s designed to take participants from the basics of how a digital camera works (DSLR, mirrorless, bridge) to mastering the manual mode. The day was filled with engaging exercises, from mastering focus to capturing the perfect shot with the right exposure. And with the added benefit of Octavia’s presence, our students got even more individualized attention and insights.
Photography Fundamentals Backed by Creative Practice
One of the highlights of the day was the hands-on practice in both our studio and a nearby park. Whether it was capturing the drama of a bursting water balloon – freezing action using a super-fast shutter speed or practising the bokeh effect for portrait shots with beautiful soft backgrounds, our students were up for the challenge.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. With a small group size (maximum of 6 students in a class), each participant felt they had the opportunity to ask questions, get one-on-one feedback, and truly understand their camera’s capabilities. The day was not just about technical knowledge; it was about igniting a passion for photography.
For those considering joining us in the future, know that our courses are more than just lessons; they’re experiences. And with experts like Aga and Octavia guiding the way, you’re sure to leave with not just better photography skills but wonderful memories too.
We’re already looking forward to our next session. If you’re interested in joining a weekend class, you can find more information and make a reservation on our website:

I goal is to be good at outdoor photography with families and children.
I have not taken a course in many years, so I was a bit worried before this workshop, but it couldn’t gone any better – Thank you!

I’ve had a digital camera for a while and wanted to understand my camera settings better.
I learnt how to use it outside of Auto, the fundamentals of photography, and how to take photographs in different conditions.
The practical exercises were great and I feel now much more comfortable with my camera.
I would 100% recommend this course!
