Hi Everyone, a big thank you for submitting your pictures to our Creative Shutter Speeds Photo Competition

The winning shot was awarded to Karen Brickley. Congratulations!

Picture title – “Ghosting”. Long exposure shot of the old West Pier at Brighton. It was taken early morning from the beach, a 30-second exposure using a 10 stop filter. I really liked the effect created by the birds moving during the exposure, somehow the impermanence echoed that of the decaying pier.

I used a Canon 550D, on a tripod, with the 18-55mm kit lens at 34mm (54 FFE), f16 and ISO 100.
