Description
Street Photography Course in Central London
Do you enjoy watching people and noticing the small, unexpected moments happening around you?
Would you like to feel more confident photographing life on the streets — without worrying that you are too slow, using the wrong settings or unsure how to approach people?
Our Street Photography Course is a practical and enjoyable day exploring central London with your camera.
We’ll start at The Travel Cafe with introductions, a look at some inspiring street photography and a quick check of everyone’s camera settings. We’ll then head outside and spend most of the day taking photographs, trying different ideas and learning through practice.
Course date
Sunday 25th October 2026
10:00am–4:00pm
Meeting place
We’ll meet at:
The Travel Cafe
139 Westminster Bridge Road
London SE1 7HR
Please arrive approximately ten minutes early.
We’ll begin inside the café before continuing outdoors around central London. The exact route may vary depending on the weather, light and what is happening in the city on the day.
We normally stop for a short lunch break. Lunch is not included, but you can bring something with you or buy food nearby.

What will we cover?
During the course, we’ll look at:
- How to notice interesting moments before they disappear
- Setting up your camera so you can work quickly
- Photographing people naturally and respectfully
- How to feel more comfortable approaching people
- Capturing movement and everyday city life
- Using light, shadows, reflections and colour
- Creating stronger compositions
- Finding interesting backgrounds and layers
- Different approaches to street photography
- Choosing your strongest photographs from the day
Your tutor will be there throughout the course to answer questions, help with camera settings and give you feedback on the pictures you take.
Small groups and personal help!
We keep the group to a maximum of six participants.
This gives everyone plenty of opportunities to ask questions, receive individual help and get honest, useful feedback during the day.
We have been teaching photography since 2010 and have helped hundreds of students explore street photography and become more confident taking pictures in public.
“I learnt so much more about my camera and discovered new ways of taking more creative pictures.”
