    Can I come by car? How do I get a visitor parking permit?

    Yes, there is free parking at Wimbledon Art Studios in Riverside Yard, but you will need a visitor parking permit.

    Our postcode is SW17 0BB for satnav.

    If you are considering coming by car, please let us know as soon as possible after booking your class.

    To get the permit, please send an email stating the date of your workshop and your car registration number to [email protected]

    Please note – the management office of WAS is open Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm only.

    If you booked a class but haven’t gotten a confirmation of the parking permit – please tell the tutor in the morning, and we will try our best to get one for you.

    If you leave your car without a permit, you risk getting a ticket.

    What equipment do I need to bring for the class?

    If you are coming to one of our photography courses you should bring your digital camera with the battery fully charged, a memory card and at least one lens. Having said that you are welcome to bring as much or as little photo equipment as you like.

    If you don’t have a camera – we offer free camera hire – just get in touch to reserve one for your course.

    For a Photoshop or Lightroom course, you will need to bring a laptop with adequate software installed, unless you made an arrangement to use one of our computers.

    Are your courses only for DSLR cameras?

    Although our business name is DSLR Photography Courses, our courses are designed for all types of digital cameras, as long as they allow full manual control – aperture, shutter speeds, ISO and focus.

    All DSLR, mirrorless and bridge cameras are very welcome – Nikon, Canon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax and more …

    If in doubt, please get in touch – let us know your camera make and model and we will confirm its suitability.

    What happens if I’m late or miss a course?

    We start classes promptly and keep to stated hours, please try to arrive 10 minutes earlier to get your camera ready.

    If you are running late or can not find the studio please let us know and call our studio 020 8947 8118.

    If you can no longer attend the course, we would appreciate it if you notify us as soon as possible. If you wish we can make some alternative arrangements for you.

    Directions to Wimbledon Art Studios

    We are based at the Wimbledon Art Studios in SW London.

    Studio 131 – that’s where we run all our indoor photography courses.

    Our address is 10 Riverside Road, London SW17 0BB.

    Walk – we are approximately 10-minute walk from Earlsfield overground station or 15-minute walk from Tooting Broadway underground station via Garratt Lane.

    Car – there is free parking at Wimbledon Art Studios in Riverside Yard, but you will need a visitor parking permit.

    If you are thinking of coming by car please let us know and we will organise everything for you.

    Bus – the 44, 77 and 270 run along Garratt Lane between Earlsfield railway station and Tooting Broadway underground station. The closest stops are Summertown and Burntwood Lane.

    The 493 bus can be taken from Wimbledon station, and it runs along Plough Lane. Alight at the Wimbledon Stadium.

    Train – Earlsfield train station is only three stops from London Waterloo train station or one stop from Clapham Junction and Wimbledon train stations.

    Tube – our nearest tube station is Tooting Broadway. You can either take a bus from outside the station (5 stops – alight at Burntwood Lane stop) or just walk along Garratt Lane (15 minutes).

    Note – Wimbledon Park is NOT our nearest tube station.
